Features of the Art Work of the Artist (brief and selected information)

One of the characteristic of her work is the extraction and abstraction of forms and figures. It represents various parameters of the existential, psychological aspects of human behavior, moods of the individual and contemporary society. It is a point of departure for the artist where it highlights and emphasizes in the areas that the she want as a focal point and emphatic in her work. It has been classified within the group calling itself the "Generation X" of Puerto Rican Art, art group whose common denominator was born between the decades of the 60's-70's and have the characteristic of having passion for what they do without borders or barriers. She has been in direct contact since very young in the arts for what he has had the privilege of being guided by a great number of artists. In her creative process uses various tools such as traditional and current technology. The artist uses photography as one tool that lets her capture the essence of the subject momentary and spontaneous which is used as inspiration.

The photography is very versatile allowing the artist to manipulate the same, and capture through the lens using a combination of lighting, color, line, shape, volume and captivate and therefore depends on the angle for the use of her compositions. The computer is the most prominent tool of the century, and one of the artist predilections for allowing her to set color schemes while using the picture as a reference. During this process, the artist emphasizes and highlights the traits strokes to emit emotions, attitudes and experiences to represent individual and collective behavior of Puerto Rican society with a global view. She develops through her work an endless number of flat spots, saturated colors, chromatic or monochromes. Using these elements, playing with shapes to form patterns within them that relate to maps and figures created through these spots, as this is a characteristic feature of her work and aesthetic.

Cacheila Soto González (brief biography, 1979-2003)

Born in Mayaguez, and is a native of Aguada, Puerto Rico in 1979. She’s a compromising multidisciplinary artist, standing out in the medium of painting and in the same way in the photographs, murals, video art and mixed media on different surfaces. The most recognized medium in her career is the painting and with no doubt it is provocative and evocative. During 1993-1998 studied at the School Eladio Tirado Lopez in Aguada Puerto Rico. While she was studying in middle and senior school she represented in several regional and national competitions. In 1996, he founded an art club at school. In 1996-1997, the Senate of Puerto Rico gave two resolutions for standing out in the Visual Arts and the Best Poster Award of the Triple S. Also, from 1993-1998 she studied at the Training Center and Fine Arts at the site of Ramey Air Force Base, Aguadilla Puerto Rico, where she earned a concentration in Visual Arts and organized several exhibitions alongside their colleagues in several towns of the island. In 1998 she graduated from both schools and received several awards, including the award of the Excellence Student in the concentration of the Visual Arts and the Excellence Student of all concentrations of the Training Center and Fine Arts (Centro de Adiestramiento y Bellas Artes). In the summer of 1998, was appointed by the municipality of Aguada to conduct a thematic mural project in the Plaza of El Quinto Centenario in Aguada, Puerto Rico. That same year exhibited at the Capitol in San Juan, Puerto Rico, graduated from high school and in the art school. After graduating from high school she decided to move to the metropolitan area and where chosen to study in the concentration in painting at the School of Fine Arts (Escuela de Artes Plásticas) , Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. In 2000, she became President of the Student Council and organized several group exhibitions and like the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico Cupey, Center of Fine Arts (Centro de Bellas Artes) in Guaynabo Puerto Rico and on the campus of the School of Fine Arts, Old San Juan Puerto Rico. For 2001, was selected by the Friends of the School of Visual Arts (Los Amigos de la Escuela de Artes Plasticas), to travel to ARCO in Spain. In 2002 a mural entitled "Do not take away years from your life just add life to the years" in the Egis of the Teacher (Égida del Maestro), San Juan Puerto Rico. In 2002, she collaborated using the medium of video art, sound art and photography on several projects with her university teachers. For 2003, while completing the bachelor degree, had her first solo exhibition titled The Extraction and Abstraction for the Subconscious in the gallery La Pintadera, a subject that was part of her graduation thesis on the concentration in painting. This exhibit counted with 20 large-format paintings where the opening captivated the public's of the of visual arts acceptance. This was the beginning of her career. That same year she graduated with honors from the university with a concentration in painting from the School of Plastic Arts of Puerto Rico.

A lo largo de los siglos podemos ver la evolución y el estatus de la mujer en los diferentes países y su historia. La lucha constante por la aceptación y comprensión frente a los tipos de pensamiento de la sociedad. Cada nación, pueblo, sector y núcleo familiar ha vivido y viven la presencia directa de la mujer como un ser humano con enormes aportaciones a la vida quedando impregnadas en los corazones, mentes y las palabras impresas en papel, acompañadas de expresiones artísticas.

La mujer es un símbolo, una musa, un vehículo de expresión y manifestación para el mundo en las artes plásticas, estando presente desde su creación. Una gran cantidad de artistas a nivel mundial se han inspirado en la figura y belleza de la mujer. Por ende nos hace parte de la historia humana con un sin numero de perspectivas y dualidades sobre nuestra presencia en las obras de arte.

Mujer es vida y muerte. La mujer recién nacida, e inocente, mujer niña, en crecimiento, mujer adolescente, en la pubertad, mujer adulta, madura, mujer de edad media, sabia. Mujer es hija, hermana, prima, sobrina, tía, compañera, amante, madre y abuela. La mujer dependiente o independiente, todas con propósitos en la vida. Profesionales o no, todas son protagonistas de sus vidas e inspiraciones en mis obras. Por tal razón presento una muestra representativa de mi trayectoria y de mi colección privada en la Galería 778 como tributo a la mujer, en marzo, el mes de la mujer.
